Python Scripts for Maya
Some ideas for simple Maya scripts:
Chinese Art & Culture Project
For my final project in Chinese Art & Culture I had to create something original that is inspired by Chinese art. I decided to make a pottery piece based on Neolithic era art and Yangshao culture painted pottery that depicts flowers representing the four seasons on each side.

Attract Trailer Research
I think this game has a good example of an attract trailer because most (if not all) of it is showing actual gameplay and it highlights different aspects of the game. Even though this trailer does focus a lot on the multiplayer and power up aspect of it, it still shows the player driving from different angles throughout the levels in interesting ways.

Racing HUD
I looked at HUDs from other racing games and most (if not all) of them show the current lap number, racing time, and some sort of map showing the current location and/or other player's location. Since it looks like we won't have multiplayer for our levels, my HUD will just have the racing time, lap numbers, and speed.

Wipeout
I was having trouble finding photos of speedometers from the exact car I modeled (1966 Fiat 124), but I found other Fiat models that had radial speedometers. However since we can't do radial, I am thinking that my car speed will be shown vertically. To me it feels better to see your speed literally go up (increase) than go from left to right like it is right now in my level.

Vertical speedometers actually exist in real life:
I would prefer it if my speedometer design (and HUD in general) went with my space station theme rather than being true to the car I made. It would also be cool to have bars lighting up for increased speed instead of a moving needle. This is shown in a very simple blueprint I made for now:
